A lot of students have noticed the recent hype around Raising Canes, often referred to as Canes. Some people are talking about it and others are taking the trip down to Seattle to try it for themselves. The restaurant is starting to be a popular spot for students wanting to travel down to Seattle for food.
There is a lot of popularity building around Canes in the area now and that also comes with people asking is Canes really worth the wait?
Quite a few students have recently driven to the new Canes to see what the craze is all about. They made the experience seem exciting and fun but overwhelming all at the same time.
“The line was wrapping around the building. There were so many people there,” junior Kendall Elhardt said.
It looks like for the near future big crowds will be a consistent part of the experience.
“It was really, really busy. I was not expecting to wait so long outside before I could even order my food,” sophomore Irelynn Buckmiller said.
The lines were so long people waited for up to an hour for their food.
Students still had good things to say about the restaurant. Although lines are long and will take time to get people through the restaurant, the establishment is well managed. Elhardt explained that the staff was really helpful. Security was letting in groups of 10 people at a time to keep things efficient during peak rush hours.
A big thing that is holding a lot of people back from really loving Raising Canes is the limited menu. Raising Canes has a super simple menu.
“The menu was really small. I wish there were some more side options at least.” sophomore Irelynn Buckmiller said.
Although there is a lack of options at Canes, many students think the quality of food makes up for the small menu.
“The method is to combine the bread, chicken and sauce… the texture of the chicken and bread pulls it all together,” junior Cortez Logan said.
With long lines, it might make more sense to stay local until the craze around Canes dies down a bit. Canes offers a good experience but local competitors such as Chick fil a, KFC, and Popeye’s might be easier and quicker alternatives until lines at Canes die down.
