The Vikings went into the game with something to prove.
“I knew it was going to be a personal game, and I knew we had to get our get back for our seniors last year. So mentally, I just knew that they’re a great team, but I knew that we were better,” junior and quarterback Blake Moser said.
Over the offseason, they put in a substantial amount of work, which has paid off with their undefeated season.
“This offseason, Coach Tri hired a new training coach, Coach Desean Diesel. He put us on a program this summer that got us in good shape and locked in for week one. I was really committed to getting out to the field with the guys, just building chemistry and just getting better myself,” Moser said.
Some players spent their offseason recovering from the past season’s injuries. For example, junior Seth Price’s PCL sprain in his left knee.
“I got hurt last year. So the majority was trying to recover and then just getting strong, getting bigger, getting faster, more explosive — things of that nature,” Price said.
Price and Moser put in the work and connected in a crucial moment in the home opener vs. Sumner.
Lake Stevens football started the 2025 season with a 31-28 winning score against Sumner High School.
Moser and Price secured a game-winning touchdown with two seconds left on the clock.
This play inspired key moments during the Vikings’ following game against Bellevue High School. Price contributed crucial first downs that helped Lake Stevens advance to a 2-0 record.
The Vikings make a strong statement with a 49-14 win against Glacier Peak. Junior Jayvian Ferrell racked up 140 total yards, a 68-yard touchdown, and a one-handed catch. Ferrell landed himself Player of the Game.
Throughout the season, the offensive linemen have been providing protection to Moser.
“I just want to shout out my linemen, because they protect me all the time. I love them boys,” Moser said.
With the sacks per game being so low, it has helped Viking football advance upfield and score.
As of right now, the Vikings remain undefeated and are ranked second in the state, with Puyallup in first place. The players all seem to share a common goal when it comes to the rest of the season. They all want to make it deep into the playoffs and into state.
“Win a Championship, that’s it,” Price said.
