Many students find it rewarding to spend their first few weeks traveling the world and exploring who they are as a person. We spoke with many of our seniors here at LSHS and got to hear about their exciting adventures and how they feel coming down to the last few months of the school year.
Senior Bubacar Saidykhan is traveling to Costa Rica; this trip has been in the making for 3 months. While he admits he’s a little nervous, he is most excited about activities like scuba diving, fishing, and trying new food.
We asked Bubacar “ Are you doing any excursions”
Bubacar said “I think, like scuba diving, fishing, eating,”
Senior Kate Hostetter is traveling far for her trip. She said she is going to
“South Korea for, like, a little over a week.”
She explained that she has wanted to travel for a long time, saying she has
“had this planned for a couple years.”
Hostetter is excited to explore and try activities like ziplining, but she admitted she is
“a little scared” about the long flight.
Some students have already completed their senior trip. Senior Jordan Weber recently visited Las Vegas for five days with family. The trip had been planned for about six months, and he says he had a lot of fun. One of his favorite parts was exploring the Las Vegas Strip and visiting a large mall. He also joked that he ate at Raising Cane’s every night.
He said he stayed “five days, four nights”
and had “a lot of fun.”
One of his favorite parts of the trip was simply “I went to Cane’s every night for dinner.”
Senior trips vary in location, planning time, and activities, but they all share one purpose: giving students a fun and memorable experience before graduation. For many seniors, these trips are a special way to celebrate the end of their high school journey.
