Nasr Learns at State Level
October 26, 2016
Everyone all already knows the state of Washington’s Governor is Jay Inslee, and that he’s running for reelection this November. Most people don’t know that LSHS’s own Executive President Samir Nasr was able to work and learn with the governor’s very own campaign management over the summer?
While everyone else was hanging at the lake or snapchatting their latest summer endeavor, Nasr was out learning better leadership and how to make LSHS a better place.
As much as Samir supports Governor Jay Inslee and his accomplishments in bringing college tuition down and giving more career opportunities for the future of Washington, Nasr was able to learn more about politics while taking the accomplishments of the governor and using them as inspiration to fuel his ideas for the future of LSHS.
“With the internship, I’ve learned how to make people feel more welcome and to appreciate others,” Nasr said. “We [ASB] have put a lot of effort into making LSHS a more inclusive atmosphere and it [the internship] has led me to push for that atmosphere at LSHS.”
Nasr says to still watch and wait for the drive-in movie theatre that he mentioned during his campaign. He also wants to create ways for clubs and athletics to make more money.
Nasr wanted to add how honored and humbled he feels about being president this year and is looking forward to bringing a better more productive future to LSHS.
