“The Addams Family” is a musical comedy based on a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. The show is based upon “The Addams Family” characters created by Charles Addams in his single-panel gag cartoons, which depict a ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre.

During the show, contagious laughter prevails overall. It’s obvious that the cast was working very hard on this production to be unforgettable and impressive. The choreography, the songs, the harmony are all challenging but they put in the time to get it right. Most importantly, you can see the passion and joy while they present the production to the audience.

The props were scary and realistic. There were also ghosts, called the ancestors, who dance in all musical parts. One of the most memorable songs is “One Normal Night” and “When You’re an Addams”.

This production represents family values of trust, where honesty and love win in the end. The show is packed with humor and it has recognition all around the world.  It’s amazing that Music Theatre of Wenatchee support and allows bringing this delightful show to the stage.

According to the Music Theatre of Wenatchee, Director Cynthia Brown recognized that “it is an all-volunteer organization from our board of directors down to the production crew and actors in each show. Producers and board members even clean the bathrooms. We do all of this, usually after our regular day jobs, for the love of the art and for the love of what it brings to our community – the quality of life”.

The show brought a lot of new feelings and hope to see more about this kind of production.
