The Lake Stevens High School HiQ team is currently ranked number two in the state of Washington. HiQ is a competition which revolves around a strong ability to retain and recall information as well as overall academic achievement.

Junior Hayden Davis and senior Mia White are two of the less than ten members of the LSHS HiQ team, which is advised by LSHS teacher Christopher Neuman.

“We are quite excited to have bested Archbishop Murphy High School, the team that won the state competition the year before last. However, this was just the first competition, and the other teams were extremely talented, and it is sure to be a vigorous competitive season,” Davis said.

This achievement of the LSHS HiQ team is nothing short of hard work and dedication, as the team frequently meets early before the school day begins.

“[Being ranked number two in the state] feels good, but we can’t get too excited yet since competitions just started,” White said, adding, “It’s nice to be recognized by the school for all our hard work.”

Just like any other club or sports team on the LSHS campus, the HiQ team deserves recognition, so be sure to congratulate its members.
