Star Wars Movie Spoilers and Review
The newest movie in the Star Wars trilogy will not disappoint
January 18, 2018
Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the 8th movie in the Star Wars series, came out on December 14, 2017 and made $1.040 billion. The movie was directed by Rian Johnson and was dedicated to the late Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the Star Wars series. In the new movie, Rey goes to Luke Skywalker, who’s been in hiding for some time, to learn the ways of the force. Luke, however, doesn’t want to train her as he believes that there should be no more Jedis.
Throughout this movie, as Rey gets to Skywalker’s island, she and Kylo start to have a connection through the force and are able to see and feel as the other one does. As Rey is with Luke Skywalker starting her training in the ways of the force, she learns that Skywalker had been Kylo Ren’s Jedi master at one point in time and that Snoke had been seducing Kylo to the dark side. Luke then tries killing Kylo and is fought back in a fit of rage. Kylo runs off and that is the last of Luke’s days as a teacher. Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in an assault against the Resistance, so they can be in control of the galaxy. Finn and his new friend Rose go to Canto Bight to find a code breaker that can break into Snoke’s ship and help take down the hyperspace tracking that they have on the Resistance’s fleet. Kylo Ren brings Rey to his master Snoke, but then ends up killing him and taking over the First Order. Luke helps the Republic by distracting Kylo Ren as a hologram. Luke then becomes one with the force and dies.
I went and saw this movie on Christmas and absolutely loved it. The movie had several twists and turns whilst still feeling like a classic Star Wars movie. The second installment of the new trilogy left us with Easter eggs and questions throughout the film, including questions with the Jedi, Luke Skywalker, Rey, Finn and other various characters. But definitely all unanswered questions helped promote the last movie in the trilogy. Overall the movie was well put together and given many opportunities for the next film. I think that every Star Wars fan would think the same and are eager for the story to continue.
