Students participating in the Running Start program at Everett Community College have the opportunity to take more challenging classes, earn college credits, and have more free time.
As the number of students participating in Running Start increases due to the desire to get ahead, these students want to know if it will benefit their future goals.
“I wanted to do running start because I wanted to get started with college classes.” senior Takuyah Raqueno said.
Students who complete an associate’s degree by the time they graduate are more likely to get accepted into college and complete advanced degrees.
Being organized and having self-discipline are necessities for success in college.
“Doing a Running Start has taught me to have better self-management,” senior Isaac Machart said.
“Running Start has taught me self discipline and making sure to do your work on time,” senior Jace Wheeler said.
Having self-discipline in school helps students stay more focused on their goals.
This self-discipline can also be useful in other aspects of life, such as sports, work, and relationships.
Overall, Running Start will always be a valuable program that gives the chance for students to challenge themselves, earn college credits, and develop important life skills.
