Hook, line, but no sinker: Senior Ryder Kavanaugh makes a fast break past Kamiak defense in attempt to score a basket. Though the boys played well, the Vikings lost 59-38 in their second match of the season against the Knights.

Girl’s basketball

11 wins, 3 losses

The girl’s have a reputation of always dominating the league, and this year is no exception. The girl’s basketball team is on a roll this year with 11 wins and only two losses. The first loss the team faced was 67 to 66 against Seattle Prep. The girls have six more games left of the regular season, and if they keep playing like this, it can almost be guaranteed that postseason games will include the Vikings.

Boy’s basketball

6 wins, 8 losses

Boy’s basketball has been having a bit of a rough season this year with a few more losses than wins. The team lost five in a row until they won 50 to 43 against Marysville Getchell. The team has continued to win and lose on and off, but they have five more regular season games to turn around their record. The team has a slim chance of making it into postseason, but they aren’t tossing in the white flag anytime soon.

Boy’s swim and dive

9 wins, 0 losses

Similarly to previous seasons, boy’s swim and dive are killing the game. The boys are swimming on undefeated, and they don’t have any plans on slowing down. Each meet, they have won by a landslide, the closest score being 138 to 42 against Everett High School. The swim and dive team have eight more matches left and by the looks of it, they will be diving into postseason.

Wrestling

5 wins, 1 loss

Wrestling has been making every team tap out on the mat, beating every team except one. The team has won by 20 or more points each match. The outlier being a six point loss against Moses Lake High School. The team has four more meets until postseason, and by the looks of it, postseason will include the WrestleMania worthy LSHS Wrestling Team.
