Crumbl Cookies has become a popular spot for people who want a sweet treat. With rotating weekly flavors, huge cookies and the signature pink box, it’s easy to see why it’s caught on. But with each cookie costing around $4 to $5, some students are asking is it really worth it?
What’s the Big Deal?
Crumbl releases a new lineup of cookie flavors every week, which can keep things interesting. The menu changes often, which is part of the appeal and keeps bringing people back.
“I think it’s actually a very smart play because if they just sold the same cookies every week, it would just get super boring,” senior AJ Marshall said.
One week could include “Oreo”, another week could bring out “Red Velvet”, or “Brownie Batter”. They even have themed cookies around holidays, such as “Peppermint Bark” around Christmas time and “Pumpkin Cake” around Halloween.
With all the many flavors and options available, it’s easy to see why Crumbl is so good and popular.
Is the Price Fair?
The cookies are big and most people end up sharing them, but with $4 to $5 per cookie, the price is high compared to other desserts, especially for students.
“Lowkey, it should be cheaper. I don’t think it costs that much to make a cookie,” Marshall said.
Some students feel that the quality and size make the price more reasonable, especially if shared.
“I think that it could be a little cheaper, but they’re pretty big, so it’s worth it,” senior Park Mikels said.
Like Mikels explained, even though the cookies are expensive, the size, quality and experience make them worth the price.
Social media
Crumbl’s popularity is partly thanks to social media. People like to post photos and reviews, and the brand leans into that with new colorful and aesthetically pleasing cookies.
“[Social media makes me want Crumbl] because I start getting hungry, and I start thinking about Crumbl,” Marshall said.
Crumbl’s use of social media not only puts its flavors out there but has also become a trend of getting each week’s flavors and taste-testing them, encouraging people to go back and post about them themselves.
Are They Really That Good?
Crumbl cookies stand out with their size, flavors and look. But when it comes to taste, people have mixed opinions. Some people enjoy the rich flavor, while many think that they are too sweet and overrated.
“I feel like some cookies are just very sweet and not it,” Marshall said.
Some people do like the sugary aspect of the cookies, though.
“I like the cookies because they’re big and really sweet,” senior Mikels said.
As Marshall and Mickels state, the cookies can be pretty sweet sometimes, but as long as you have a drink or don’t eat too much, the cookies are a perfect sweet treat.
Crumbl isn’t for everyone. Some people love trying new flavors each week, while many would rather stick with cheaper options such as homemade cookies or other desserts. Even if you didn’t like one cookie, there are always new flavors coming out. But despite the price, Crumbl is a great place that everyone should try.
