Flock a friend is a fun way Heidi Standish uses to raise money for grad night for the seniors of LSHS. Anyone in Lake Stevens can pay to have a family or friend’s house flocked. For $20, 10 flamingoes will be set up in someone’s yards for two days. This fundraiser will continue till May 31. Flocking is a surprise until they see that their yard is full of bright pink flamingos.
The person paying for a flock can choose to send the flock anonymously or leave a personalized note. Senior Lilly Tennis stated she thinks this is a really unique idea to raise money that she hasn’t heard of before
“This can be a very successful way for the school to raise money now and in the future,” Tennis said. “This is a really fun unique idea that you can use to have fun and to help raise money.”
If 10 flamingos is not enough, a super flock can be purchased for $35 for 20 flamingos. A different twist on this fundraiser is that people can pay $25 to avoid being flocked to keep your lawn safe from a flamingo takeover.
For those looking for something more celebratory, there are bonus add-ons for $5-10 including birthday hats and giant numbers.
“This is a fun way to interact with friends or family and give them a nice little surprise to come home to that will brighten their day and make them laugh, ” senior Alysandra Beveridge said.
