Lake Stevens High School has a long-standing tradition that adds a unique twist to the senior year experience: Senior Assassin. This exhilarating game has been a staple for years, bringing excitement and strategy to the graduating class.
Senior Assassin is a game where participating seniors are assigned a target, who they must “assassinate” by tagging them with a Nerf gun. The game is played in rounds, and the last student standing wins the grand prize. To participate, students pay a small entry fee, which contributes to the prize pot.
Strategies are key to surviving and thriving in Senior Assassin.

“I’ve always been good at finding people and you know, people are not careful because there can always be someone watching you,” senior Kirra White said.
Players often form alliances with friends, sharing information and coordinating attacks all while creating a pact not to kill each other in the process.
Purge Night is a high-stakes event where all rules are thrown out the window. For a limited time, everyone becomes a potential target, creating an atmosphere of suspense.
“We thought that trying to get our target out on Purge Night was also going to be smart because then they couldn’t use the gear, the protection gear, but then that didn’t work because then she got me out. So, word to the wise,
don’t try to get your target out on Purge Night,” senior Kamryn Hoff said
The thrill lies in never knowing who might come for you, turning trusted allies into potential enemies. This game is an exciting way for seniors to have fun and end their long-awaited high school career.
