As time ticks by, Lake Stevens seniors look forward to their final night as classmates. On June 10, after the graduation ceremony, participating seniors will board buses for a night full of games, laughter and unforgettable moments. It’s more than an event; it’s a chance to reflect, celebrate and soak in the joy of being together one last time before life takes them in different directions.
This all-night celebration starts right after the ceremony and lasts until roughly 5 in the morning. This has become a cherished tradition for Lake Stevens High School. Once diplomas are in hand and caps have soared into the sky, the Class of 2025 will be driven away to a night of mystery and fun. It’s a carefully coordinated experience where drivers escort students and chaperones to a series of surprise venues, each packed with activities, games and chances to win special prizes.
“I’m looking for one last time to hang out with everybody in our class before we all go our separate ways,” senior Jackson Sanders-Pugh said.
Sanders-Pugh, who’s been intentional about making the most of his final year, has embraced every chance to connect with his friends and create memories. For him, this night represents one final adventure— an evening without regrets and without missed opportunities.
What makes the night even more thrilling is the element of surprise. Students won’t know where they’re going until they arrive. The suspense builds with every stop, adding a layer of excitement to the entire experience. Behind the scenes, parents and volunteers have been working tirelessly to plan the route, ensuring both safety and spontaneity. Every detail, from transportation logistics to prize tables, has been thoughtfully organized to make this a night to remember.
“I’ve heard that there’s a ton of like, really cool prizes. You can win and um it’s just it’s like completely blind, like where you go and do, so it’s just a mystery up until that point,” Sanders-Pugh said.
As for Gunner Starcher, he decided to join grad night because a lot of his friends are doing it and wanted him to do it. He is now very excited to spend his final night as a Viking as a big group and make as many memories as possible.
As the sun sets on their high school journey, the seniors of Lake Stevens will be sharing jokes on bus rides, cheering each other on during games and soaking in the fleeting moments of their shared chapter. It’s not just about where they’re going that night but where they’ve been, and what lies ahead.
By morning, confetti will have settled, prizes will be tucked under arms, and tired eyes will be filled with memories. Their time as Vikings may be ending, but the bonds formed, the laughter shared and the spirit of this final celebration will echo into the future.
