Dakota Latham

Dakota Latham, Photographer

Dakota Latham (she/her) is a sophomore at LSHS. She is interested in journalism because she wants to write stories and learn how to create a newspaper like the Valhalla and be a photographer for the newspaper this year. She doesn’t really know what she wants to do as of right now when it comes to jobs or education in the future. But, some of the things she enjoys doing in her free time are painting and running, and she is a part of the cross country team and the track team.

Decisions, decisions: sophomore Mackenzie Dunkin searches for a book in the Lake Stevens High School library. The LSHS library has nineteen sections, split onto the second and third floors of the East building. "My favorite thing about our library is probably the way it's set up. I really like how each shelf is a different genre," sophomore Katie Cook said.

Pumped up: The Boys Swim and Dive team excitedly yell the cheer they do before every meet. Swimmers created cheers for the divers that they chant after each dive. "Things like, 'Honey, where's my super suit?' or...'C-4. Hit! you sunk my battleship!' for each diver makes it fun. I know the divers love hearing them, and the swimmers love making them up. It's fun to watch other schools react too. We have probably the most enthusiastic diver cheers in the area!" Coach Brady Dykgraaf said.
