The Lake Stevens baseball team has had a promising season, overcoming early setbacks and multiple losses to build an impressive record of 14 wins and 5 losses with an outstanding 78.57% win rate.
This turnaround has been fueled by standout individual performances, consistent offense and solid pitching. Despite challenges, the Vikings have shown resilience and strong team chemistry, bouncing back quickly after each stumble.
“We’re better than last year, and we can go far into State and hopefully at least make the Final Four for State, and hopefully win it,” junior Cade Landes said.
Leading the charge is senior Aspen Alexander, a Grand Canyon University (GCU) commit, who has delivered eye-popping numbers at the plate. Alexander boasts a .419 batting average, 4 home runs, 13 stolen bases, 26 hits, and 20 runs, setting the tone for the team’s offensive firepower.
Supporting him is sophomore Blake Moser, a two-sport standout in both football and baseball. As a pitcher and third baseman, Moser brings a captain’s mentality, helping to keep his teammates focused during tough stretches. His impressive stats include a .514 on-base percentage, .377 batting average, 20 hits, and 24 runs.
“We just won WesCo, we’re just winning a lot, and we’re gelling as a team. If we can beat those teams and win WesCo, we can bring a state title home,” Moser said.

The coaching staff has also been instrumental, making strategic adjustments that have kept the team on track. With the current momentum, Lake Stevens is positioning itself as a serious contender for the state title. Fans are beginning to believe that something special is happening.
Another standout performer this season has been junior Manny McLaurin. Despite being an underclassman, Manny has already made it clear that he’s a serious competitor and a force to be reckoned with on the mound.
An emerging talent in the Washington 4A baseball scene, McLaurin brings energy, focus, and a relentless drive to every game. Known for his sharp command and fearless approach, he consistently challenges hitters and thrives under pressure. Currently ranked third in the state for strikeouts in Washington 4A, Manny is proving that he’s not just an up and comer, he’s already making his mark.
“Yes so far. We still got a little ways to go and still gotta compete. Ideally, by winning the state, overall, I just want to have a fun time and enjoy the little bit of time we have left together,” McLaurin said.
Helping lead the younger players is senior Julian Wilson, an Everett Community College (EVCC) commit.
“The impact I want to make is to be a leader on and off the field. Our goal is to win another WesCo title and show both our league and the entire state that they should be paying attention to Lake Stevens. We have a lot of talent this year, and we’re hungry for success,” Wilson said.
He’s lived up to that statement, providing veteran leadership and consistent play as the team continues its championship push. He is 11 for 11 on stolen bases, 17 hits, and a fielding percentage of .971
With a deep roster, driven leaders and rising young talent, Lake Stevens baseball is peaking at just the right time. As the postseason approaches, the Vikings are not just aiming to compete they’re aiming to conquer. The mix of grit, talent and belief running through this squad makes them one of the most dangerous teams in the state.
If they continue playing at this level, don’t be surprised to see Lake Stevens hoisting a championship trophy when it’s all said and done.
