The team lost three seniors, from the 2023-2024 season. This year’s team will be made up of mostly juniors and sophomores. Ending the regular season with the record of 19-5, and first in Wesco, but getting eliminated in the first round at the Tacoma Dome. They are confident with the team this year and are ready to make it farther than last year.
“Make it to the dome again. And win state,” Junior Tessa Anastasi said.
The girls have been working hard during the off season while some of them are on AAU teams. The girls also compete in the Fall league which is made up of the players from the regular season team. As well with training in the gym and on the court to prepare for the 2024-2025 season.
“I did work out over the off season, but we also had a fall league where we were doing teamwork and that was the workouts and just running laps,” Junior Anastasi said.
With winning first in Wesco and making it to the Dome, the girls were excited with how far they got after the regular season but not satisfied with where they ended. They are excited to get where they left off and make a statement by hopefully winning state. The team will only have two seniors this upcoming season Griffyn Eymen and Addy Baker.
“I feel really sad, but it’s gonna be awesome. We’re gonna go all out,” Senior Baker said.
Overall the girls are ready for the season, starting with a strong bond and a determination to make it back to the dome.
“I think that we are a good young team and a lot of our key players are still here. So we’ll build off that,” Junior Anastasi said.
All these girls are very excited to start their long awaited season all together and are hoping for a very good outcome.
