Lake Stevens Girls Swim and Dive team seniors, Rachel Howard, Sarah Fleischmann, Savannah Foley, Mackenzie Smith, Charlotte Lamb, Riley Scherer, and Kelly Howard take a breather after their win against Everett High School, 127-53. The Viks have an amazing record of 8-1 and are hoping to add to their wins throughout the season. “We really want to get a relay to state this year,” Mackenzie Smith said.

The Lake Stevens Girls Swim and Dive has rolled through teams this season by beating teams from 51 points to 130 points. They have had a successful season so far with a record of 7-1. The No.2 Vik’s put up a tough fight against No.1 Glacier Peak but ended up with a loss. A week later they bounced back by beating Archbishop Murphy, 132 to 47.

The Vik’s have put in immense hard work and dedication this year.

“I would say going through the sets and putting our all into each one,” Mackenzie Smith said.

With Snohomish High School on the horizon, the team has been extremely focused on their training.

“The past two years we’ve gone against them, we’ve won by like 4 to 2 points. So hopefully this year the cards are in our favor,” Smith said.

Not only will it be a close meet and great competition, but it will also be Senior Night for the 12 seniors on the Lake Stevens Swim and Dive team.
