Kassie Gruel, Photographer and staff reporter
Kassie Gruel is a sophomore and so is a newcomer to both the Valhalla staff and Lake Stevens High School. She is one of the staff’s Reporters, and a photographer. She has lived in Washington for 2 years. Some other places she has also been to are Oregon, Montana, Colorado, Arizona, California, Utah, and Mexico for a brief second. She is also an artist on top of being a writer. Her hope is to one day be an FBI agent, artist and author. So far Journalism is her favorite class, which she joined because she wanted to challenge herself and get out of her shell. The reason she became a reporter is so that she can write on any topic without being locked in a category. Some info about her non-school life is that her favorite music genres are pop and country and that some of her favorite TV shows are “Criminal Minds” and “Shannara Chronicles”, which is a series based on books by Terry Brooks. Back to school life however, stories that pique her interest are: anything that challenges an opinion, things you don’t see everyday and unknown items such as clubs that don’t get enough attention. Gruel is also extremely interested in History and has the capability to write in Ancient egyptian hieroglyphics.
