Students getting their scare on

Carlton and Thompson Farms are two places you can go to find peers getting their scare on

Students around the school have embraced the Halloween spirit by getting hired to scare people. They enjoy the thrill of making people fearful no matter who it may be. The only problem is that anyone may run into is figuring out whether or not the scary Halloween character is a friend or foe.

Senior Dayton Waller has made it his goal to scare anyone and everyone who comes through the haunted house he works at on Thompson Farms. Not too long ago he got the news that he made a girl pee her pants, even got a $20 bonus for the feat.

“I was in a room where there was a bunch of mannequins and I was dress up kind of like them, So I was kind of hard to expect,” Waller said. “She walked by and I popped up and she screamed and peed her pants. She said that she had a hard time walking because her feet were soaking wet from pee.”

Senior Vaughn Silver has taken up this challenge as well making sure no one can avoid him in the corn maze at Carlton Farms. He found out that his family was coming to where he work and knew exactly what he had to do.

“That was the single funnest experience; scaring my dad, my mom and my aunt which was so much fun,” said Silver.

Being able to do this job takes great patience. The workers stand around for hours and they aren’t allowed to touch anyone, with the hope that no one touches them back.

“At one point I was standing on top of this sort of plywood structure and I jumped down on someone. I didn’t touch them but I got really close,” senior Liam Quigley Said.

Best part about the job is when things go slowly workers have the opportunity of scaring their fellow employees. Senior Jeremy Thompson had the opportunity to take on his boss at the paintball course at Carlton Farms.

“We were all working a Thursday night and there was a Seahawks game, so nobody showed up. Our boss decided to let us have free range of the place, so we got the paintball guns out and just started shooting each other for fun,” Thompson said.

Embrace the Halloween spirit this weekend and go see your school mates at work. Be brave and have fun.
