There have been several notable achievements at the school lately, especially in regards to clubs. The Robotics Club experienced a big win recently. Lake Stevens High School participated in a competition at Seattle Prep with about 50 teams competing.

Lake Stevens High School sent 5 teams, and Cavelero sent 4. The competition consisted of 6 qualifying matches the quarter and semi finals, ending in a win for Lake Stevens.

Junior Madi Woll was on a team that left the qualifiers in 15th place, then played through to the finals when Lake Stevens won.

“I was definitely stressed out half the time,” Woll said. She was ecstatic about the win, as it was the first time Lake Stevens had a victory since her freshman year.

DECA is preparing for a 3-day trip to the State Competition March 2-4. About 40 DECA students and Mrs. Morton will travel to Bellevue to try and qualify for International Career Development Conference.

Junior Rebecca Trimble is preparing for her second trip to State, as she went last year. She’s excited because the majority of first semester has been building up to this competition.

“I love going to State because you get to meet so many people and learn new things,” Trimble said.

Other people are a little more focused on the awards rather than the experience. Junior Cole Huglund has his eyes set on nationals.

Members of both clubs have have worked tremendously hard for these competitions.
