ASB elections to save time and paper

Speeches will be viewable through the app

In a push to further utilize the LSHS Connect App, students will use the app in determining who will fill next year’s ASB executive positions. Prior to to this year, students went to the gym to watch candidate’s speeches and then voted for candidates during lunches. But thanks to the app, the new election method will not only save paper, but time as well.

“[Students] don’t having Viking Period this year, and ASB utilized it because it gave us time for the speeches. But, we also want to promote the app and technology in the school, and plus it’s so easy. You watch the videos in your second period and it’s all there.  It’s not taking a lot of time out of your learning schedule and day,” ASB Executive President senior Peter Condyles said.

During an extended second period on March 16, students will watch videos created by the executive candidates, and will also be able to start voting through the LSHS Connect App. Students who do not have a smartphone will be able to vote with Chromebooks from March 16 to fifth period on March 17.
