Christmas is around the corner

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

The holiday season is here and many people are ready to spread holiday cheer. It’s the time for people to get close with loved ones and indulge in their favorite holiday activities. To join in on the fun, I decided to go out and ask people about their favorite things to do during the winter season.

When December rolls around, it’s the perfect time to binge watch all the holiday specials and, of course, your all time favorite Christmas movies. “My favorite Christmas movie is Santa Clause starring Tim Allen,” senior Mikaela Keator said. There are too many movies to count and I know a lot of people are dedicating the month to watching the classics that everyone loves like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Now, you know that we can’t talk about the holidays without bringing out the debate as old as time. Who is the best reindeer of all? The generic answer would be Rudolph, but we must not forget about the rest of Santa’s reindeer. “Blitzen is my favorite,” sophomore Emily Moran said. All of them play a role in making sure all the little boys and girls wake up to see their presents under the Christmas tree every year.

On the subject of presents, most people usually have at least one thing they are hoping to get from “Santa” each year. “For Christmas I just want to get to graduation,” senior Ashley Manske said. Some people have simpler things they are hoping to get or maybe they are focusing on giving rather than receiving. The act of giving and receiving is what makes the holiday season so great since it’s the time of year to spread joy to others.  On that note, I wish you all a holly jolly Christmas!
